During a busy four day trip to Hong Kong I was delighted to present a keynote lecture on fashion designing for, with and by people at the Hong Kong Fashion Summit ‘Circular Economy’ conference. An inspiring two days of talks, panel sessions and roundtables with industry visionaries, sustainability champions, policy makers and academics from around the world sharing best practice, exchanging insights, and discussing opportunities that can lead to change. Speakers included: Brenda Koekkoek, UN Environment; Karl-Johan Persson, H&M; Dr Christina Raab, ZDHC; Edwin Keh, HKRITA; Marsha Dickson, Better Buying / University of Delaware. At the invitation of Jo Lau I also spoke at the HKDI, ‘Fashion Future Development’ panel alongside Moto Suzuki, CEO hap co.ltd, and Prof. Suyama, Bunka Gakeum University. Finally, to close, was the 2018 Redress Grand Final Runway show featuring the finalists of the Redress Design Award. Well done to first prize winner, Tess Whitfort (Australia)
